The edge between
I’m excited to let you know that I’m having my first solo exhibition, ‘The edge between’, at Craft + Design Canberra on the 23rd of May 2024. The opening will be at 6pm and you are warmly invited. I will also be giving a short artist’s talk at 5.30pm. It would be so nice to see you there!
‘The edge between’ features a series of ceramic works responding creatively to the principles of the regenerative earth care system of Permaculture. Each piece draws on one of the 12 permaculture principles to create a collection of new ceramic works that contain a positive non-judgmental message about how each of us can choose to change our behaviour to make a difference. Now more than ever we need to examine our relationship to planet Earth.
Location: Craft + Design Canberra, 180 London Circuit, Level 1, North Building, Canberra Australian Capital Territory 2601
Date: 23rd May 2024
Time: 5.30pm for artist’s talk, 6pm for exhibition opening
I’ve also made a sweet little pocket guide of the 12 permaculture principles, complete with hand drawn pictures of the work, that you can take away for free if you come along. The 12 permaculture principles are design guidelines examining how we can live harmoniously within the finite resources of earth and its inhabitants.
Permaculture, with its emphasis on self-reliance and positive actions to work harmoniously with nature, has been widely adopted around the globe. Permaculture is founded on the 3 ethics of earth care, people care, and fair share. I’ll explain this some more at my artists talk.
I hope you can make it! For more information about the exhibition and permaculture go to the ‘View events’ tab below.
